Writing from Detroit Lakes MN where we are buying 4 days of groceries.
One hour drive to lake itasca state park. Camp there tonight. Tuesday morning Jim returns car to bemidji airport and hitches back to Lake Itasca. And finally then we launch!
It's ~55 miles to paddle to first town - Bemidji. Speed/hassle depends much on water level, as it's a tiny creek and sometimes just big marsh at the headwaters.
