Aug 3 - still good

We left the Rift Valley and drove to the Bale Mountain region. Home to Oromo people. Productive high quality sol and good weather make this the best grain growing region in the country.

First mechanized equipment for agriculture today. Until now the only bit of post-stone-age farm equipment has been a metal tip on an ox drawn wooden plow.

Still good birding.
Still all getting along well.
Still abundant children.
Still overgrazed. But one small patch of uncut forest was a huge highlight.
