Aug 20 - Flowers and Live Spruces

It's easy to be happy when the sun shines all day long.

Camped at 435.7, a 5-star dry campsite a bit off the trail. MCF James found another great campsite.

Flowers have been great, particularly this last week in the San Juan Range. Past their peak but still great.

I don't think I mentioned that for most of this hike the conifers, particularly the spruces, have been dead dead dead. Mountain after mountain of completely dead forests. Beetles. Down here they are still alive, and it is a very nice scene indeed.

We are healthy, happy, dry, and enjoying the scenery.
