Apt 14 - trail angels Carol and Red

One of the enjoyable things about non-motorized travel is meeting random people in random places. Today we walked through a USFS car campground (hot showers!) where Carol and Red invited us to join them for freshly smoked pork and beer/soda. The food was great, but the companionship was even better. Carol from NY/NJ, Red from southern Georgia. Second marriage for both. Happily in love. Kids grown and independent. 24 foot RV, motorcycle, solar panel, and friends scattered around Georgia. They live in the RV, primarily in the Big Thunder campground in summer and in Florida in winter. Not a worry in the world.

Warm but not hot. Solid rain last night but only a few sprinkles early today, then mostly cloudy with occasional sun.

Never enough birds. Kind of wish we'd been here 50 years ago when the populations of neotropical migrants was more than double what it is today. And still dropping. Sad.

We are healthy and well. Looking forward to hot meal and re supply tomorrow in a Reliance TN.
