Sep 7 - heaven on the trail

Started hiking the Bibulmum Track in Kalamunda this morning, now 15 miles down the path.

Just perfect.
Great weather.
Well marked easy trail.
Flowers a'bloomin.
Parrots a'squawkin.
Stopped late afternoon for a pint of beer (James) and hard cider (Amy).
In the groove.

And best of all --- it's not all grazed!! It was all logged decades back, so the forest is all second growth. But since it's not grazed there is lush undergrowth, much of it in bloom now. Our visit to Ethiopia really drove home how extraordinarily damaging extensive overgrazing is to the soil and therefore overall ecosystem. The contrast is stark.

Staying in a nice shelter with Julie, a fine woman from Perth, out hiking alone for a few days. Great company and a nice evening together.

Question for my gardening friends -- have you ever seen a potted plant fill a pot as in this photo?

We are happy and healthy.
