June 3 - we’re in d-day country now.

We crossed Horsa and Pegasus Bridges today. Tomorrow we'll walk across three of the five landing beaches. Interesting to be here and get a feel for the landscape where it all happened. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus_Bridge

Nice long easy flat walk today. Birds singing, good weather, no crowds, long flat beaches at low tide, two or three bakeries, pizza for dinner. 

We're staying at a perfect Airbnb of the old style - a room in a home hosted by a great couple of our vintage who hosted us for wine and appetizers. 

We are happy and healthy and clean, well-fed, fresh laundry, and awake way past our bedtime.
