June 5 - D minus 1 on Omaha Beach

We crossed Omaha Beach this afternoon and will miss the June 6-9 events in that neighborhood. Tomorrow we'll pass Point du Hoc, and on Saturday we'll walk through Utah Beach. We'll see what events we encounter.

It sprinkled a tiny bit today. And then at about 5:00 it started really raining, before we had found our campsite, so we had to search for a site in the rain. Fortunately, just as we found the first viable site in a long while , there was a five minute break and we were able to quickly set up the tent and keep the inside dry. We have had so much good fortune with weather for so long that we can't remember the last time we had to set up the tent in the rain.

We are happy and healthy and tucked into our dry nest for the past couple hours, listening to the pitter patter.
