The most beautiful scenery of the trip so far. Followed the River Tees for many miles. No rain, and 60ish temps, but when we crossed the high ground we had a couple hours walking through a cloud with Beaufort 7-8 wind at our backs. It made my brain rattle in my skull.
Remote, lovely landscape, big waterfalls, beautiful. Nobody else out on the trail.
We dropped into the village of Dufton, where the proprietor of the caravan park found a level grass patch for us with pretty good wind protection. Forecast includes overnight rain. The local pub couldn't serve us until 7:45, so we're sitting in the pub nursing a pint of cider and waiting our turn.
We are happy and healthy and looking forward to tomorrow, when we head back up and cross the high point of the trail at 893 meters.
