April 3 - through Pontivy

We spent the past week following the Nantes - Brest canal. Mid-day today we reached Pontivy, where that canal intercepts the Blevet Canal, which we will now follow south to Lorient.

We had a couple inconsequential spurts of drizzle this morning, but the forecast showed rain arriving in the evening, so we stopped a bit early to get set up before it started. Success on that front. Dinner, notes, stretching — all done in the tent during intermittent rainy spells.

Pizza and groceries in Pontivy, and then we started the much anticipated patisserie phase. Pontivy is the largest town encountered since we left Nantes, but was not bustling as we expected.

#1: unexpectedly closed.
#2: really not a boulangerie, no pastries, with a big lunchtime business as a sandwich shop.
#3: looks like the pastry chef hasn't returned from Easter break; very sparse display case.
#4: some good looking stuff, but 2x the prices of every other place.
#5: like #3, but as it was the final option we bought a few things.

We are happy and healthy and tucked in nice and dry, again right next to a lock.
