March 25 - wind, gorse, and a doglet

A little teeny tiny polite calm dog lived at our lunch restaurant, and wandered around inside and out. Smaller than a small cat. 2.5 kg on a good day. The smallest dog I've ever seen, but with straight scruffy hair about an inch long. Jim is not kicking it; on the contrary, it was taking shelter between his feet

There are some small farm plots around. Old stone walls indicate much of the land used to be productive. But these days, most of the coast side is abandoned to invasive gorse, which is a truly unpleasant plant with sharp spines that gets so dense you can't walk through it. If you zoom in on this photo, you can see a beautiful old stone wall to Jim's right, and a clear path through the gorse.

Wind! Strong today, and forecast to last five more days. Always from the northeast.

We are happy and healthy and camped on the level part of a ridge top, protected from the force of the wind by a plantation of pine and eucalyptus trees.
