March 6 - wind and no rain

It's a little weird to have this much wind and stormy feeling without any rain, but that's what we had. windy.com showed base wind of 30 with gusts to 60 all day. We had only one 20 minute stretch where our exposure made walking and standing upright difficult, but we were not near a cliff edge and never felt in danger. I've always thought we can be comfortable in high winds OR rain OR cold. Two of the three is tough, all three together is dangerous. Today we had high winds, but all dry and 55. It was invigorating and thrilling. It helped that the wind was primarily at or nearly at our backs. Pity the 25-30 hikers we saw heading northbound; that would rattle the brain.

The photo shows what the sea looks like in gale force winds - all churning white and foamy.

We are happy and healthy and camped at route mile 150 in a scrappy little pine plantation that offers all the wind protection we need. The tent is not even flapping!
